Nine years ago we went to Birmingham for my first ever convention, so it was only fitting that we went back there to make it D’s first too.
There was possibly just a tad too much sensory input for her after a while, but she met some terribly nice people. Annabod became surrogate mum for a bit, and Emily had a strangely interesting face. We didn’t think much to ^Tom_ though, but that’s to be expected. Mummy and Daddy also got lots of parenting advice off a random who evidently thought we looked unfit for purpose.

Roll on Chocfest. Huzzah!

D went for her second lot of immunisations this morning. Aside from the nurse completely failing to put the cotton wool in the right place and getting blood all over her sleep suit, the situation has led to us embarking upon our first experience of Calpol.
I thought it was fabulous stuff. D, not so. I could have happily guzzled the whole bottle, it smelt so nice. It’s got that proper Medicine smell to it. D wasn’t keen though and ended up throwing it up (along with most of her last meal) all over Everything. Ungrateful child.
So today I have scrubbed blood stains and been up to my elbows in sugary sick. Marvellous.

Bleugh. Today, mummy is feeling rotten. Shivery, sicky, pooey rotten. Little D has been terribly magnanimous in putting up with having to entertain herself a bit more than she’s used to. The wall has been stared at and we’ve been plonked in front of the telly and rather abruptly dumped about the place while mummy runs to the bathroom. And she hasn’t complained.
She’ll call in the favour one day. That’s the worry.

Today I have:
1. Got caught out in a blizzard and managed to inhale a snowflake. It smelt like wet dog.
2. Sunk to new lows by singing Billy Joel to my daughter.
3. Put D in her Bumbo at the exact moment she decided to do a mega-poo. Cue having to clean her bum, her back, her neck, the bumbo, the changing mat, the blanket, and the cat. I somehow managed to keep myself surprisingly poo-free though.
