Lizzah’s folks came round on Saturday to help with a spot of minor deforestation. It was ever so much fun.
We started out with five or six 20 foot Leylandiis which swayed ominously in even the slightest breeze. Lizzah’s dad soon took care of them with his manly chainsaw action and this is the result.
Marvellous, isn’t it? We can see sky now. And natural light.
That green stuff on the floor isn’t grass, by the way. It’s tree. Once we’ve cleared everything out (you’ll note the big pile of rubbish / hardcore to the right and the jungle of nettles / bits of garden furniture to the back) Pete can spend a weekend levelling it all and we can start thinking about new fencing and a lovely green lawn. Ooh, and borders! The possibilities are endless.
If anyone is even the slightest bit interested in taking some of these logs off our hands we’d be ever so grateful. We also have an enormous mound of mostly leylandii mulch-chipping-type-stuff which is threatening to bury our composter. It’s all free to a good home.
