What has it all come to?

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

I’m sat in my living room at the minute listening to two lads bounce up and down on the roof of my conservatory, singing Shania Twain’s “That Don’t Impress Me Much” at each other.

Any minute now they’re going to come crashing through. I can feel it in my waters.

Woot!

Fifty catches of four clubs.

Get in.

Not as Fundango

Monday, October 22nd, 2007

It was the first Fandango for simply ages yesterday, but it ended up being a tad disappointing. I hadn’t realised until yesterday how nice it is to have the big upstairs hall. Not being able to use it, and instead being stuck downstairs in one of the smaller classroom bits, felt a bit strange. There was a reasonable turn out all crammed in there, meaning in order for everyone to do their thing a lot of folks had to spread out into the corridor. Plus a big bit of the available space was taken up with the Wii playing area.

My juggling ability has rapidly declined since Monday, too. Alby and I tried some seven club stuff with not much success. Didn’t even bother with eight. My arms were achey (possibly from illness) and I wasn’t really in the mood. I felt like with a bit of application my attempts at four clubs could have been reasonable, but again the impetus just wasn’t there.

So instead we sat around for a bit and chatted. Lizzah was in a silly mood, and I hadn’t seen Nicki or Rod for ages. We all trotted off for a constitutional around the lake and Alby. Robin attempted to engage the local yoofs and surprisingly didn’t get beaten up for it. Nicki got hit on with not a lot of success. Pee showed off by jumping across a big bit of river and I paid for Lizzah to have a go on the big fairground slide that we happened to pass. The inane grin on her face would suggest that she enjoyed it.

Back in the juggling space, I let Jay and Lizzah beat me at Wii Sports and then did some more sitting. Then we went down the road to a pub for food. I had a delicious peice of ‘Jubmo Battered Fihs’ and Pee managed two meals for the price of one, but not the bucket of icecream and fruit they were offering for dessert. Wuss. We talked film and, I think, have agreed that we need a 100 Films To See Before You Die night to work alongside the scary fillums evenings. And soon.

I checked the council’s website when we got back home to find out whether my suspicions were correct about my route to work being bollocked by road closures. I was correct. Had to leave the house ludicrously early today and go the long way round town to get in. Bah. Dreading the ride home. The only sensible route now available to me seems to take me along the busiest, most jam-packed streets in the city. Grrr.

Free rice

Saturday, October 20th, 2007

I think I’m addicted to this.

I got up to level 43, and donated 2,370 grains of rice before I stormed off in a huff. I don’t care what anyone says, ‘legerdemain’ is not a real word.
